Terms of Service

The Japanese version of these Terms of Service is the authoritative version. This English translation is provided for reference only. In the event of any conflict between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version shall prevail.
Article 1 (Scope)
- These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) set forth the conditions of use for the AI anime and drama streaming platform “AInema” (the “Service”) provided by AInema Operations (the “Company”).
- Users shall use the Service upon agreeing to these Terms. By using the Service, the User is deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
- These Terms apply to all relationships between the Company and Users regarding the use of the Service.
Article 2 (Definitions)
The following terms shall have the meanings set forth below:
- “Coins” refers to virtual currency usable only within the Service. 1 Coin is approximately equivalent to ¥1.
- “Creator” refers to a User who creates and distributes content on the Service.
- “Episode” refers to individual content (video) distributed by Creators through the Service.
- “Series” refers to a collection of content consisting of multiple Episodes.
- “Tip” refers to voluntary support sent by a User to a Creator using Coins.
Article 3 (Account Registration)
- Account registration is required to use the Service.
- Account registration is limited to individuals aged 18 or older.
- Users must provide accurate and current information when registering.
- Users are responsible for properly managing their account login credentials. Login credentials may not be transferred, lent, or shared with third parties.
- The User who holds an account is responsible for all actions taken under that account.
Article 4 (Purchase and Use of Coins)
- Users can acquire Coins by purchasing coin packs designated by the Company. Prices for coin packs are as displayed on the Service.
- Coins do not have an expiration date.
- Coins may be used for the following purposes:
- Purchasing paid Episodes
- Sending Tips to Creators
- Coins may not be converted to cash, transferred or sold to third parties, or used on other services.
- Refunds for purchased Coins are generally not accepted. However, this does not apply in cases attributable to the Company (e.g., duplicate charges due to system errors).
- If the Company terminates the Service due to unavoidable circumstances, Users will be notified at least 90 days prior to the termination date, and the Company will provide instructions for refunding unused Coin balances.
Article 5 (Tips)
- Users may send Tips to Creators using Coins. Tips are voluntary support and do not entail any service in return.
- Tips cannot be cancelled after being sent.
- Tips are subject to minimum and maximum amounts set by the Company.
Article 6 (Use of Content)
- Users may view content provided through the Service only for personal, non-commercial purposes.
- The following actions are prohibited:
- Copying, downloading, recording, or capturing content
- Redistributing, reposting, or publicly transmitting content
- Modifying content or creating derivative works
- Circumventing technical protection measures
- Viewing rights for purchased Episodes are tied to the purchasing User's account. Viewing rights cannot be transferred along with account transfers.
Article 7 (Creator Terms)
- Content Rights: Copyright and other intellectual property rights for content posted by Creators on the Service belong to the Creators. However, Creators grant the Company a license to use such content to the extent necessary for operating the Service (including distribution, thumbnail display, promotion, etc.).
- Compliance: Creators are obligated to agree to all compliance check items designated by the Company before publishing content.
- Revenue Sharing: Revenue from Episode sales and Tips is distributed as follows:
- Creator: 80%
- Platform (Company): 20% (15% platform fee + 5% transfer fee)
- Minimum Payout: Payouts may be requested when the Creator's unpaid earnings reach ¥1,000 or more.
- Payout Methods: Creators may choose between bank transfer (via Stripe Connect) or PayPay Points (via Digico).
- Content Removal: The Company reserves the right to remove or restrict content that violates these Terms or compliance standards without prior notice.
Article 8 (Prohibited Activities)
Users shall not engage in any of the following activities:
- Unauthorized access, placing excessive load on servers, or exploiting system vulnerabilities
- Unauthorized copying, distribution, or commercial use of content
- Registering an account with false information
- Harassment, defamation, or threats toward other Users
- Activities that violate laws, regulations, or public order and morals
- Infringing on intellectual property rights, privacy, reputation, or other rights of the Company or third parties
- Fraudulent use of multiple accounts (e.g., exploiting promotions)
- Accessing the Service using automated tools (bots, scrapers, etc.) unless authorized by the Company
- Any other activities deemed inappropriate by the Company
Article 9 (Modification and Suspension of Service)
- The Company may temporarily suspend all or part of the Service in the following cases:
- System maintenance or updates
- Natural disasters, power outages, communication failures, or other force majeure events that make operation of the Service difficult
- Other cases where the Company determines suspension is necessary
- The Company may modify the content of the Service after providing prior notice to Users. However, this does not apply in cases of emergency.
Article 10 (Disclaimer)
- The Company shall not be liable for damages incurred by Users arising from the use of the Service, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Company.
- In cases where the Company's willful misconduct or gross negligence causes damage to a User, the Company's liability shall be limited to the amount paid by the User to the Company during the preceding 12 months. However, this limitation does not apply where restricted by the Consumer Contract Act or other mandatory laws.
- The Company is not responsible for viewing disruptions caused by communication environment, User device environment, or other factors not attributable to the Company.
- The Company does not guarantee the accuracy, legality, or quality of content distributed by Creators.
Article 11 (Account Suspension and Deletion)
- The Company may suspend or delete a User's account without prior notice if any of the following applies:
- Violation of these Terms
- Discovery that registration information is false
- Failure to respond to communications from the Company within a reasonable period
- Other cases where the Company determines suspension or deletion is necessary
- Users may request account deletion (withdrawal) at any time through the methods prescribed by the Company. Handling of account information after withdrawal shall be in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
- Upon account deletion, unused Coin balances and viewing rights for purchased Episodes associated with the account will be forfeited. However, in cases of account deletion attributable to the Company, refunds for unused Coin balances will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Article 12 (Amendments to Terms)
- The Company may amend these Terms as necessary.
- When amending these Terms, the Company shall post the amended content and the effective date on the Service at least 14 days prior to the effective date.
- For amendments that significantly restrict User rights or significantly increase User obligations, the Company shall provide individual notice to registered email addresses in addition to posting on the Service.
- If a User uses the Service after the effective date of the amendment, the User shall be deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.
Article 13 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
- The interpretation and application of these Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan.
- In the event of a dispute between the Company and a User regarding these Terms or the Service, the Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance.
